AMPANIC
A $3.99 solo-developer oddity that turns a potion-shop sim into a mouse-aim test: every task is a flick or a tracking motion, and one lost customer ends the run. Cute, frantic and cheap, with a small review sample and little outlet coverage so far.

AMPANIC is the latest game from YuLu, a Japanese solo developer known for the aim-based climbing games Aim Climb and AMNYAM. The pitch is in the title: aim plus panic. You run a potion shop, but there is no cozy stocking loop. You flick your mouse to pull passersby in, snap to materials in the field, process them, and combine them into an order while the queue grows.
A shop sim you play like an aim trainer
The core loop is the usual shop-sim chain, gathering, processing, crafting, serving, but each step is a different aiming skill, and the pace rarely lets up. Orders get more elaborate as stages progress and customers come with special requests or trouble of their own. The twist is the stakes: a customer who gives up and leaves ends the run. Mana you collect can be spent on skills to rescue a shop on the verge of collapse, and the final stage and versus mode use a roguelike format. A Brazilian review headlined it a potion shop turned into a multitasking nightmare, said the mouse-precision core gives it a dynamic of its own, and called the visuals charming.
Co-op, versus and the price
Online co-op lets you share the chaos, or get in each other’s way. In versus mode, every customer you finish sends a new one to your rival’s screen, an idea Japanese coverage compared to Puyo Puyo. The high-difficulty mode has leaderboards, so you can see other players’ scores and builds. At $3.99 the entry cost is small enough that a short game can still pay for itself, and a Japanese review praised it as a one-coin game that keeps your brain and wrist busy.
What I can’t tell you
Coverage is still thin. Steam shows 100% positive on 59 reviews, one Japanese outlet scored it 10 on its own scale, and the Brazilian review also mentions some limitations that I couldn’t read in full. I don’t know how many hours of content it holds or how well the roguelike layer lasts, so I’d treat the score as a first read.
Verdict
If the idea of running a shop with nothing but your aim sounds fun, AMPANIC is an easy recommendation for the price. It is cute, fast and built around a single clear idea. If you want a relaxed management sim, this is the opposite, and the three difficulty levels may not be enough to soften it. Try it with a friend in co-op before judging the solo grind.
